Mike Cuckler

Michael Cuckler is HCA’s Head Administrator. He also teaches two Bible classes, Senior’s Worldview & Philosophy and Christian Doctrines (year I). Mr. Cuckler holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Bible Exposition from Pensacola Christian College. He has been teaching at Heritage since 1999, and Choice City Christian School and Fort Collins Christian Academy before that. Outside of Heritage, Mr. Cuckler enjoys being a dad, volunteering with the youth at church, and running.

Brian Ness

Brian Ness is HCA’s Elementary Principal and Physical Education teacher. Mr. Ness holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Colorado State University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. He has been in education since 1992. He owned and ran a summer day camp in Fort Collins for over 28 years. Mr. Ness’s favorite part about teaching is interacting with the students because he feels that watching each student’s special story unfold throughout the years is a huge blessing. Mr. Ness enjoys spending time with his wife and grandchildren, as well as the great Colorado outdoors.

Christine Humphrey

Christine Humphrey is the Secondary director of Academic Instruction. She also teaches secondary science, including AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, Biology, and Chemistry. Mrs. Humphrey holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Messiah University, and a Master of Education from Arcadia University. She has been teaching since 1998. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing students make connections between science and their own lives. Mrs. Humphrey is passionate about genetics, and she enjoys learning about the philosophy of science and quirky science stories. She loves helping students use science to build an appreciation for the Creator God.

Valerie Brown

Valerie Brown is the Elementary Director of Academic Instruction as well as one of HCA’s third grade teachers. She joined the HCA team in 2019, but she has been affiliated with Heritage as both a parent and a volunteer since 2005. Mrs. Brown received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with Fields of Specialization in both Reading and Art from Dordt College, and she is certified through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Mrs. Brown’s favorite part of teaching is discovering each child’s unique potential and fostering both personal and academic growth.

Dawn Cuckler

Dawn Cuckler has been teaching and supporting Heritage math and administration since 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pensacola Christian College. She believes math is the beautiful language with which God wrote the universe, and that understanding it helps us have a deeper knowledge of our Creator and Savior. She is blessed to be able to support all that God is doing here at HCA. She and Mike have four amazing children who continue to make their mark for the Kingdom of God. Besides spending time with her family, her favorite past-time is creating complex spreadsheets.

Jeannie Koehler

Jeannie Koehler is HCA’s Finance Director, joining the team in 2014. Mrs. Koehler graduated from the United States Military Academy, and she then served in the U.S. Army for five years as an Adjutant General Officer. She feels blessed to be able to serve HCA families and staff in various ways. Mrs. Koehler is passionate about finding ways to streamline financial processes to make things easier for both families and teachers. Her favorite parts of her position are providing tours to prospective families, the relationships she has made within the Heritage community, and finding strategic ways to crunch those numbers.

Heather Smith-Bowman

Heather Smith-Bowman is HCA’s Communications Manager. Mrs. Smith-Bowman has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from George Fox University, and a Master of Education from Montana State University – Billings. Prior to becoming the Communications Manager, Mrs. Smith-Bowman spent six years teaching at HCA. She taught first grade for one year, sixth grade for three years and high school English for two years, and has been the Communications Manager for over a decade.

Cindy Ridge

Cindy Ridge works as the receptionist for HCA. She has been working in education since 2015. Her favorite part of the job is meeting and interacting with our students and parents.

Stephanie Belmarez

Stephanie Belmarez is the first face you see when you walk in the door and the cheerful voice who answers the phone. She is HCA’s Administrative Assistant & Registrar. Mrs. Belmarez has spent a total of eleven years working at Heritage, as a substitute for two years and as the Administrative Assistant for nine. Mrs. Belmarez loves to knit, crochet, craft, read, and spend time with her family.
